Obverse description Printed in blue on cream paper, the obverse is dominated by a large oval vignette framed by leafy branches, enclosing a letterpress view of the market village of Sarmingstein set against a mountainous Alpine backdrop with clouds above. The denomination 'Fünfzig Heller' appears in Gothic script to the left and right of the vignette, with the legend 'Gut-Schein' across the top in decorative lettering. The validity date '31. Dezember 1920' is inscribed within the vignette area, two manuscript signatures appear at the lower left and right, and the issuer name 'Markt-Kommune Sarmingstein im Strudengau' is set in Gothic type to the right margin, with the numeral '50' prominently placed above it.
