Ruppersthal is a small wine-growing village in Lower Austria, and like hundreds of comparable municipalities it resorted to printing its own Notgeld during the severe coin shortage that followed the collapse of the Habsburg economy. The Gesellschaft für Graphische Industrie was one of Vienna's busiest commercial printers of the period, producing Notgeld for dozens of these local issues simultaneously — which makes attribution straightforward but individual print runs hard to verify.

The Jaksc catalog suffix "c" indicates this is the third known type variant within the Ruppersthal 50 Heller series, suggesting the municipality issued multiple printings, not unusual given that demand for small-denomination paper often outpaced original estimates.
