Obverse description A polychrome vignette occupies the upper portion of the note, rendered in a folk-art style and signed 'K. REISENBICHLER' in the upper right corner; it presents a panoramic townscape of Ostermiething with a prominent church tower and red-roofed buildings set among green foliage. Ostermiething is a small market town in the Braunau district of Upper Austria, and like hundreds of other Austrian municipalities it resorted to printing its own emergency small change — Notgeld — when coin shortages became acute in the years following World War One. R. Kiesel was a Salzburg commercial printer regularly engaged for municipal Notgeld commissions across the province, and the designer K. Reisenbichler appears on several issues from the same regional network.

The Jaksc catalogue prefix 0713lh places this within the Upper Austrian municipal series. Redemption of most Austrian Notgeld was mandated by 1922, and surviving examples typically come from unissued remainder stocks rather than actual circulation.
