Two circular denomination vignettes reading '50 / Heller' flank a central cartouche in Gothic script bearing the issuer name 'Mauer-Öhling' and validity legend. The lower half carries a detailed landscape vignette of the Niederösterreichische Landes-Heilanstalt (Lower Austrian State Sanatorium) rendered in fine hatched linework.
