| Reverse description | The reverse, printed in brown on plain cream paper within a simple rectangular frame, bears a large denomination panel at upper left with the numeral '50' in an ornamental cartouche above 'Heller'. To the upper right, a two-line verse in Gothic script reads 'An kleinem Geld ist überall Not, Drum schaffen Kleingeld wir für's Brot.' Below, the issuing authority is stated as 'Gutschein der Gemeinde Mauer-Ohling, Bez. Amstetten, N.-Ö.' A formal legal text in the centre pledges redemption of the Notgeld in lawful currency by 30 December 1920, followed by the facsimile signatures of the Bürgermeister Josef Kronberger and the two Vicebürgermeister Franz Gruber and Fr. Schweighofer. |
