| Obverse description | Brown on pink paper Notgeld issued by the Stadtgemeinde Hallein, printed by letterpress. The central vignette portrays a salt miner (Haller) carrying a large timber beam over his shoulder, flanked on each side by a rectangular panel bearing the denomination numeral '50' above the inscription 'HELLER' with small floral ornaments at the lower corners. A decorative rope-pattern border frames the entire design, with the issuer legend 'STADTGEMEINDE HALLEIN' in bold capitals across the top. Below the vignette, a two-line redemption text gives the date of issue as 1 Oktober 1919 and the signature of Bürgermeister Neumayr. |
