Fieberbrunn is a small market town in the Tyrolean Pillersee valley, and this 50 Heller note is one of thousands of Austrian Gemeinde-issued Notgeld pieces that flooded local circulation after the collapse of the Habsburg economy in 1918–1919. The central government could not supply enough small-denomination coinage, so municipalities were legally permitted — and practically forced — to print their own emergency fractional currency. Wagner in Innsbruck handled a substantial volume of this regional Tyrolean Notgeld, printing for numerous small communities across the Inn and Salzach valleys during the same period.
The JPR0200a designation indicates this is the first catalogued variety for Fieberbrunn's issue.
