| Obverse description | Green-tinted note with an elaborate guilloche underprint filling the entire field. The issuer inscription 'Gemeinde Ernsthofen' appears in Gothic blackletter type at the top, with the denomination numeral '50' repeated in each corner. The central text reads 'Gutschein über Fünfzig Heller' in large Fraktur script, below which the validity date 'Gültig bis 31. Dezember 1920.' is given flanked by small ornamental flourishes.
