| Obverse description | Green-tinted Notgeld voucher printed in dark ink on light green paper, with a decorative border of interlaced guilloche ornaments framing the entire face. Helpfau-Uttendorf is a small commune in Upper Austria, and this note is a product of Austria's postwar Notgeld wave — the municipal emergency currency phenomenon that peaked between 1919 and 1922 as the collapsed Habsburg economy left communities without adequate small change. Stampfl & Comp. in Braunau handled printing for a number of regional Notgeld issuers in Upper Austria during this period, making them a minor but real part of that local supply chain.
The Jaksc catalog designation places this firmly in the documented Upper Austrian municipal series. Helpfau-Uttendorf issued in limited quantities; surviving examples are not rare but neither are they common.
