Additional information

The Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority issued this brass 50 Halala series following Salman bin Abdulaziz's accession to the throne in January 2015 after the death of King Abdullah. New coinage bearing a ruler's name is standard practice upon succession, making transition-year and first-year issues the functional boundary markers between reigns in Saudi numismatic chronology. KM#77 is the reference for this type.
