| Reverse description | Two cornucopias cross at the center of the field, their mouths issuing upward and outward, overflowing with fruit and foliage. Clusters of grapes hang prominently from each horn. The Arabic numeral ٥٠ and the Arabic word خمسون قرشا (Fifty Piastres) appear in the upper field above the crossed horns. The denomination 50 PIASTRES is boldly inscribed in two lines in the lower field, with the word ESSAI incuse on the lower right of the reverse field, identifying this piece as a trial strike. A beaded inner border and dentilated outer rim frame the composition. |
