| Reverse description | A dramatic high-relief composition depicts an African Water Buffalo (Cape Buffalo, Syncerus caffer) in the foreground, rendered in large scale with finely detailed horn and hide texture, occupying the majority of the reverse field. In the middle distance to the left, a second buffalo is shown in full silhouette standing in profile on a ground line, providing a sense of depth and scale. A sweeping landscape with suggested vegetation and sky elements fills the background in low relief. The inscription WATER BUFFALO appears along the lower rim in a curved legend, while the purity and weight specification 100 GRAMS 999 SILVER is inscribed in the upper left field. |

| Additional information |
The Democratic Republic of Congo has become one of the more prolific issuers of large-format silver bullion coins since the mid-2000s, operating largely through licensing arrangements with European minting and distribution firms — meaning most of these pieces are conceived, designed, and sold far from Kinshasa. The Banque Centrale du Congo's role is largely nominal.
KM#262 is part of a broader wildlife series targeting the collector-bullion crossover market. Actual distribution was handled primarily through dealers in Belgium and Germany.
