| Obverse description | Uniformed bust of Prince Rainier III facing right, depicted in full ceremonial dress and wearing the collar of the Grand Master of the Order of Saint Charles. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine detail to the regalia and military decorations. The engravers' names G. SIMON and J.J. TURC appear in the field, along with the date 1976. The peripheral legend reads RAINIER III PRINCE DE MONACO, separated by median dots. |

| Reverse description | Central device composed of four crowned royal cyphers 'R' arranged in cruciform pattern, their bases meeting at centre where a small floral rosette enclosed within a circle forms the focal point. Four ornate princely crowns are positioned between the arms of the cross at the cardinal points, and four lozenge-shaped ornaments fill the diagonal interspaces. The whole composition is surrounded by a beaded border, with the legend DEO JUVANTE arcing across the upper field and CINQUANTE FRANCS along the lower field. |
