Obverse description The national coat of arms of Mali occupies the central field, depicting two crossed bows and arrows above a rising sun, surmounted by a fortified tower and a vulture displayed with wings spread at the top of a circular wreath. The denomination FRS. 50 appears in the lower central field. The upper legend REPUBLIQUE DU MALI arcs around the top of the coin, while the national motto UN PEUPLE UN BUT UNE FOI curves along the lower periphery, flanked by two five-pointed stars.
