| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in blue and ochre, centred on a large vignette of an African landscape with a rising sun over a river scene, framed by two elephants at lower left and right, each standing beneath a tall palm tree and a baobab tree respectively. A guilloche border with the denomination numeral 50 in each corner surrounds the design, with an octagonal cartouche at top centre enclosing a Gallic rooster. Three manuscript signature lines appear across the centre, captioned Un Administrateur, Le Directeur, and Le Caissier, with the issuing place DAKAR and date printed between them. |
