| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Djibouti occupies the central field, depicting a vertical spear flanked by two outstretched hands each grasping a traditional dagger, superimposed over a circular rayed shield, all enclosed within a wreath of olive branches. A five-pointed star appears above the coat of arms at the top of the field. The legend REPUBLIQUE DE DJIBOUTI arcs around the upper periphery in raised Latin characters. Below the coat of arms, the denomination 50 FRANCS. is inscribed along the lower rim, flanked by the fineness indicator Ti.990 to the left and the weight 10g to the right. |

Djibouti's central bank has issued a small but consistent run of titanium collector pieces over the past two decades — a format more common among Pacific island states than East African issuers. Titanium at .990 purity produces a distinctively matte, blue-grey toning under heat treatment, a property the Djibouti series has exploited across multiple issues. KM# 33 falls within that program.
