Reverse description The coat of arms of the Hungarian People's Republic occupies the central field, depicting a striped shield surmounted by a five-pointed star and flanked by wheat sheaves bound at the base with a ribbon. The mint mark BP. and the year 1968 are inscribed beneath the arms. The denomination ÖTVEN FORINT (Fifty Forints) arcs around the upper periphery, separated from the inner field by a ring of small stars, with the numeral 50 prominently displayed at the bottom of the field. The deeply mirrored proof fields contrast sharply with the finely detailed relief of the state emblem.
