Obverse description A frontal view of the Erzsébet híd (Elizabeth Bridge) spanning the Danube in Budapest occupies the central field, rendered in fine detail with its characteristic suspension towers and cable stays. The bridge motif is presented in a clean, modernist engraving style with strong relief. Surrounding the central device, the circular legend reads 'MAGYAR · NÉPKÖZTÁRSASÁG ·' (Hungarian People's Republic) in bold Latin capitals, with decorative lozenge stops separating the text at the base.
