| Obverse description | The arms of the Republic of Malta are displayed centrally as a heraldic shield charged with the national flag — a bipartite field of white and red bearing the George Cross at canton. Surmounting the shield is a mural crown depicting a sally port flanked by five turrets, symbolising the island's historic fortifications and city-state character. The shield is flanked by two laurel branches — olive to the right and palm to the left — tied at the base by a ribbon inscribed REPUBBLIKA TA' MALTA in capital letters. The issuer's name MALTA appears to the left of the arms and the date 2015 to the right, all legends rendered in Latin script. |
