Additional information

Lithuania's accession to the Eurozone on January 1, 2015 made it the last of the three Baltic states to adopt the euro — Estonia joined in 2011, Latvia in 2014. This gold issue was struck in that inaugural year, part of a commemorative program marking the currency transition. The Lithuanian Mint, operating under the Bank of Lithuania, has historically produced small-mintage collector pieces rather than high-volume circulation coinage, and this issue reflects that pattern.

Fr#22 in the Friedberg gold reference confirms its standing as a modern bullion-adjacent commemorative rather than a circulation strike.
