| Reverse description | A facing or three-quarter portrait effigy of Joséphine Baker dominates the central field, rendered in high relief against an Art Deco architectural and decorative backdrop characteristic of the 1920s Parisian cabaret aesthetic. The inscriptions JOSÉPHINE BAKER and her birth and death years 1906–1975 appear in the field, identifying the subject. The overall composition reflects the ornate geometric patterning and stylized elegance associated with the Art Deco movement. |

| Additional information |
Issued as part of the Monnaie de Paris "Femmes de France" series, this coin honors Josephine Baker roughly two years after her 2021 panthéonization — the first Black woman and first American-born person inducted into the Panthéon. Baker's wartime work as an agent for French military intelligence, passing messages concealed in sheet music during her tours, was as consequential as her stage career, though it remained largely classified for decades.
