| Reverse description | The reverse presents a detailed architectural view of the Place de la Concorde, with the ancient Luxor Obelisk rising prominently at the centre of the composition, its hieroglyphic inscriptions rendered in fine relief. Flanking the obelisk are the two symmetrical neoclassical hôtels particuliers bordering the square, engraved with careful attention to their colonnaded facades. Concentric arc lines fill the lower field, lending a decorative depth to the composition. The legend 'XXXIIIe OLYMPIADE - PARIS 2024' arcs along the upper rim, while 'PLACE DE LA CONCORDE' is inscribed across the lower field in two parts flanking the obelisk. The year '2022' appears at the lower right. |
