Obverse description The obverse features a right-facing profile effigy of Queen Isabella I of Castile, rendered in high relief with regal attire characteristic of late 15th-century portraiture. To the right of the portrait appears a depiction of the Castle of La Mota, a medieval fortress closely associated with the queen. The legend arcing around the periphery identifies the subject and the landmark, with the country name ESPAÑA appearing at the base. The dates 1451–1504, corresponding to the queen's lifespan, are incorporated into the inscription. The overall design reflects a commemorative artistic style befitting a large-format silver issue.
