| Additional information |
Part of the Monnaie de Paris "Sports" series issued in the lead-up to the 2024 Paris Olympics, though golf was dropped from the original Olympic programme in 1904 and only reinstated for Rio 2016 — making its inclusion here something of a quiet rehabilitation. France's relationship with the sport is longer than most assume; the Royal Blackheath aside, some of the oldest continental clubs predate the Third Republic.
