| Obverse description | Central field features the celebrated Semeuse (the Sower), a draped female figure striding to the left with flowing hair and dress, scattering seeds, rendered in high relief within a stylized rectangular frame. Flanking the central motif are decorative fields of horizontal stripes on the left and vertical lines on the right, both bordered by a ring of twelve European stars around the coin's periphery. The monogram 'RF' (République Française) appears to the right of the Semeuse figure within the central panel. The date is split across the lower field, with '20' to the left and '09' to the right of the central design. The composition evokes the iconography of the euro coinage tradition alongside classic French Republican imagery. |
