Part of the long-running Monnaie de Paris "Great Eras of Art History" series, this issue covers a period when French royal patronage — particularly under Louis XIV and Louis XV — made France the undisputed center of European decorative arts. Versailles alone consumed the output of entire craft guilds for decades.
The series has drawn collector criticism for its rapid release cadence and high premiums over spot, but the .999 fineness and restrained 7.78g format keep secondary market liquidity reasonable.
