Obverse description A detailed frontal view of the Brandenburg Gate, Berlin's iconic neoclassical triumphal arch, occupies the central field, rendered in fine relief by engraver Reinhart Heinsdorff. The structure's twelve Doric columns and entablature are rendered with architectural precision, surmounted by the Quadriga chariot group atop the attic. The design is enclosed within a circular inner border, with twelve five-pointed stars of the European Union arranged around the outer ring. The mint year appears in the lower field below the gate, flanked by the mint mark letter directly beneath it.
