| Obverse description | The obverse features a contemporary reinterpretation of the iconic Sower motif, originally designed by Oscar Roty, rendered in high relief striding to the left and sowing seed against a radiant sunburst background. The design, engraved by Laurent Jorio after Roty's classical allegory, symbolises France remaining true to its heritage while embracing European unity. The national monogram RF (République Française) appears in the field, along with the year of issue and the engravers' attribution legend. The entire composition is encircled by the twelve five-pointed stars of the European Union arranged along the coin's rim. |
