Comments

Trinidad and Tobago was among the earlier Caribbean states to adopt polymer substrate for its higher denominations, and this 2020 issue marks a deliberate modernization push by the Central Bank following years of counterfeiting pressure on the cotton-paper series. De La Rue's Cayman polymer platform underpins the note, combining the clear window with optically variable ink in a security package then considered robust for regional circulation volumes.

P#64A is the first polymer variant in the 50-dollar denomination — the same value had previously circulated only on paper stock since the 1985 series reset.
