Discovery's 1984 maiden flight was preceded by two scrubbed launch attempts — the second of which resulted in a dangerous hypergolic propellant spill requiring emergency pad evacuation. The Marshall Islands issued this piece in 1989, the year Discovery carried the Magellan spacecraft aloft on mission STS-30, beginning the probe's 15-month transit to Venus.
