Obverse description Left-facing crowned and draped bust of King George V, rendered after the original 1911 effigy design, with the king depicted wearing his imperial crown and ermine-trimmed robes adorned with decorative orders and regalia. The portrait is set against a deeply engraved engine-turned background of concentric wavy lines that contrasts with the raised relief of the effigy. The circular legend is divided above the bust, reading GEORGIVS V DEI GRA: to the left and REX ET IND: IMP: to the right. The engraver's initials B.M. are visible in the lower right field. The overall treatment reflects a formal, historically faithful recreation of the Edwardian-era coinage portrait.
