Additional information

The F-100 Super Sabre holds the distinction of being the first production aircraft in the U.S. inventory capable of level supersonic flight, entering service with the Air Force in 1954. It bore the brunt of early close air support missions in Vietnam before more capable aircraft were available, logging more combat sorties there than the P-51 had in World War II.

The Marshall Islands issued an extensive series of military aviation commemoratives through the 1990s under licensing arrangements that had little connection to the islands' own history — the program was essentially a revenue mechanism targeting American collector markets.
