Additional information

The Royal Canadian Mint's 2012 Year of the Dragon issue was part of a lunar series explicitly targeting the Chinese-Canadian collector market and overseas buyers in Hong Kong and mainland China, where demand for investment-grade gold tied to the zodiac calendar is substantial. Mintage was capped at 7,500 pieces worldwide. The dragon year reliably drives the highest premiums in any twelve-year lunar cycle — this coin sold out faster than any other entry in the RCM lunar gold program to that point.
