Obverse description The obverse features the right-facing draped bust of Queen Elizabeth II, as rendered by engraver Susan Taylor, with her hair elegantly styled in a coiffed upswept arrangement and adorned with a pearl necklace and earring. The effigy occupies the central field against a deeply mirrored proof background. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left periphery, with 2006 positioned at the top and D•G•REGINA along the right. The Royal Canadian Mint privy mark appears at the bottom of the field beneath the bust, and the engraver's initials SB are visible on the truncation of the shoulder.
