The Mythical Realms of the Haida series grew out of the Royal Canadian Mint's long-running collaboration with Indigenous artists, here working within a Northwest Coast formline tradition that has strict internal rules governing the placement and weight of design elements. The Eagle in Haida cosmology occupies one of two primary moiety divisions — Eagle and Raven — that structure kinship, marriage law, and ceremonial responsibility across Haida society. These are not decorative choices.
The .9999 fineness puts this above standard bullion purity, an increasingly common specification for RCM collector issues after 2010.
