Obverse description The obverse features the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Susanna Blunt, rendered in high relief against a subtly engraved crosshatched field. The Queen is depicted in right-facing profile, wearing a diadem, drop earrings, and a pearl necklace, with her hair styled in a characteristic upswept coiffure. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left periphery, while D·G·REGINA arcs along the right, both in raised Latin lettering. The engraver's initials SB appear discretely below the Queen's truncation. The portrait occupies the majority of the coin's field, lending a dignified and stately appearance to the obverse.
