Additional information

Niue has long used its Cook Islands-adjacent licensing arrangements to issue legal tender coins featuring licensed pop-culture properties — Peanuts characters among the most recurring. This particular issue capitalizes on the "King Snoopy" motif, part of a broader Schulz-estate licensing program that generated numerous Pacific island gold and silver issues around 2009–2011, most produced by the New Zealand Mint on Niue's behalf. Collector demand rather than circulation drove the entire series; no meaningful quantity ever reached the island itself.
