Reverse description Right-facing profile effigy of Princess Grace of Monaco (Grace Patricia Kelly), her hair elegantly styled in an upswept chignon. In the left field, the inscription '90th Anniversary' is rendered in flowing script above the dates '1929–1982', commemorating the 90th anniversary of her birth. At the lower left, a polychrome coloured red rose with green foliage is inlaid against the mirror-polished field, positioned at the neckline of the portrait. The name 'Gracia Patricia' is inscribed in cursive script along the lower periphery. The entire design is bordered by a raised beaded inner circle.

Additional information

Gracia Patricia was the Monegasque title adopted by Grace Kelly upon her 1956 marriage to Prince Rainier III — a union that generated enormous international press and effectively turned Monaco into a permanent fixture of celebrity culture. Niue has leveraged its Crown dependency status to issue legal tender collector coins on behalf of foreign subjects and themes since the 1990s, operating essentially as a licensing vehicle for the global bullion and numismatic market. This kilogram piece is part of that commercial tradition rather than any monetary necessity.

The 25 inset diamonds make secondary-market authentication non-trivial; stones have been replaced on examples in the past without altering surface appearance significantly.
