Reverse description Three highly detailed sugar maple leaves (Acer saccharum) are depicted centrally, two overlapping leaves in the upper register and one prominent leaf in the lower foreground, rendered with deeply sculpted veining and naturalistic relief by engraver Konrad Wachelko, whose initials 'CD' appear at the lower left of the stem. The fineness designation '9999' is inscribed to the right of the stems in the mid-field. The legend 'CANADA' arcs along the upper periphery, while 'FINE GOLD 1 OZ OR PUR' is inscribed along the lower border, confirming the coin's weight and purity in both English and French.
