Reverse description A finely detailed rendering of a full-rigged sailing vessel — evocative of HMS Fly, the ship that brought British officials to Pitcairn Island in 1838 to draft the island's constitution — occupies the central field, its multiple masts, furled sails, and intricate rigging rendered in high relief. In the lower portion of the field, a small longboat crewed by four islanders is depicted rowing across a lightly textured sea toward the anchored ship. The commemorative legend DRAFTING OF CONSTITUTION arcs along the upper periphery, with the dual date 1838–1988 continuing along the right side of the legend, marking the 150th anniversary of the event.
