| Obverse description | Right-facing diademed and draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, whose initials IRB appear below the truncation. The bust is set against a highly stylized geometric background of radiating faceted planes in the Czech Cubist style, evoking the decorative vocabulary of the lamp depicted on the reverse. A miniature rendition of a Cubist armchair appears in the central field below the effigy. The legends ELIZABETH II to the left and NIUE ISLAND to the right are incused within angular diagonal bands; the denominations 50 DOLLARS, the purity mark PT 999, and the date 2022 are inscribed across the lower field. The Czech Mint mintmark appears at the bottom. |
