Reverse description The reverse depicts the Imperial Coronation Egg (1897), one of the most celebrated of the Imperial Fabergé Eggs, rendered in exquisite high relief in the oval field. The upper portion of the egg features an intricate gold lattice-work pattern of entwined garlands and rosettes set against a dark background, with three inlaid brilliant-cut diamonds positioned at the intersections. The lower portion of the egg opens to reveal its famous surprise: a finely detailed miniature replica of the Imperial Coronation Coach, faithfully reproduced with spoked wheels, ornate body panels, and a gilded crown atop the carriage. The legend IMPERIAL is inscribed vertically along the left border and FABERGÉ EGGS along the right, with the mintmaster's initial R appearing in the lower field. A decorative beaded border encircles the entire oval composition.
