| Reverse description | The reverse features the iconic Canadian Gold Maple Leaf motif comprising three overlapping maple leaves rendered in vibrant green selective colouring applied over a matte gold field, faithfully replicating the classic design first introduced in 1979. The legend CANADA arcs along the upper periphery, while the dual dates 1979–2019 appear to the right of the leaves commemorating the 40th anniversary of the Gold Maple Leaf programme. The bilingual inscription 40 YEARS / ANS is positioned to the lower left, and the purity designation 9999 along with the weight declaration FINE GOLD 1 OZ OR PUR are engraved along the lower field. The mint engraver's initials NL appear to the lower right of the central design. |
