Obverse description Sixth crowned effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II facing right, as designed by Jody Clark, depicted wearing the George IV State Diadem and the Victorian Coronation Necklace. The legend around the upper field reads ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA, with the designer's initials JC appearing below the portrait. The denomination 50 DOLLARS, fineness 9999 Au, and weight designation 1/2oz are inscribed in the lower field.

Reverse description A finely detailed mouse rendered in high relief stands upright amid wheat stalks, grasping one stalk with its forepaws while additional ears of wheat flank the composition on either side. The Chinese seal-script character for mouse (鼠) appears in a square cartouche to the upper left of the central design, accompanied by the English inscription MOUSE below it. The year of issue 2020 is inscribed beneath the legend, and the Perth Mint's P mintmark appears to the lower left in the field.
