Reverse description Two Brolgas (Antigone rubicunda), Australia's celebrated dancing crane, rendered in finely detailed high relief occupying the central field. The foreground bird bows its head low in a courtship display whilst the taller bird behind spreads its wings gracefully, conveying the species' iconic mating dance. The engraver's initials SB appear at the base of the design, alongside the Perth Mint's P mintmark. The upper circumference carries the series legend DISCOVER AUSTRALIA, with the date 2008 inscribed in the upper field. The lower arc bears the inscriptions BROLGA 1/2 OZ. 9999 GOLD, attesting to the coin's fineness and weight.
