| Obverse description | Fourth effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt, depicting a mature right-facing bust of the monarch at approximately 77 years of age, uncrowned and unadorned save for a necklace and earrings. The effigy is rendered in fine relief against a plain field. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 50 DOLLARS and the date appear in the lower field.
