Reverse description Central depiction of the Bobby Dazzler gold nugget, discovered in 1899, rendered in high relief against a radiant sunburst pattern emanating from the centre of the field. The name and discovery date of the nugget appear inscribed below the central motif, with the legend THE AUSTRALIAN NUGGET and the fineness designation 1/2 OZ. FINE GOLD arranged around the upper periphery. The year of issue 1987 is displayed in the lower exergual area, flanked by raised dots. A beaded border frames the entire design.
