| Obverse description | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the George IV State Diadem, a pearl drop earring, and a pearl necklace, as sculpted by Raphael Maklouf. The portrait is rendered in high relief against a deeply mirrored proof field. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left periphery and COOK ISLANDS along the right, with the date 1997 positioned in the lower field below the portrait. The engraver's initials RDM appear on the truncation of the bust. |
