| Obverse description | The national arms of the Republic of the Marshall Islands occupies the central field, depicting a traditional Marshallese stick chart navigation device at the base, flanked by a sailing canoe and flowering plants, with a frigate bird in flight above and a radiant sun at the apex. Two crossed traditional implements frame the central motif. The legend REPUBLIC OF THE MARSHALL ISLANDS arcs along the upper periphery within a decorative beaded border, while the Marshallese national motto JEPILPILIN KE EJUKAAN curves along the lower border. The denomination $50 appears at the left and the date 1995 at the right, with the word SEAL inscribed at the base of the arms. |

| Reverse description | A finely detailed rendering of a cherub, inspired by Raphael's celebrated Sistine Madonna putti, is depicted resting with folded arms upon a ledge, gazing contemplatively to the left, with delicately rendered wings spread behind the figure. The legend CHRISTMAS arcs across the upper field in spaced capital letters. The denomination 50 DOLLARS appears to the upper right of the central device, and the date 1995 is inscribed along the lower margin within the coin's raised rim. |

| Additional information |
The Marshall Islands' commemorative program of the 1990s was prolific to the point of exhausting collector interest — the mint produced dozens of $50 silver issues annually, many with mintages never officially disclosed. KM#273 is one of several Christmas-themed pieces from that run, a market aimed squarely at the holiday gift trade rather than numismatic circulation.
