| Obverse description | Uncrowned effigy of King Charles III facing left, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and a draped suit collar, after the portrait by Dominic Dwyer. The legend CHARLES III arcs along the upper left periphery and AUSTRALIA along the upper right, with the denomination 50 DOLLARS inscribed along the lower arc. Two raised dots flank the lower legend as decorative stops. The engraver's initials DT appear incuse in the lower right field near the truncation. |

The Australian Kangaroo bullion series has run continuously since 1989, making it one of the longer-lived national gold bullion programs. Unlike many sovereign bullion coins, the reverse design changes annually — a deliberate policy by the Perth Mint intended to stimulate collector demand alongside the standard investment market. Charles III's accession portrait appearing on this issue marks only the second monarch to feature in the series' history, with Elizabeth II having anchored every prior year.
